Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that any quality or technical issues are addressed promptly and effectively. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customer complaints and internal support requests, working collaboratively to resolve post-sale issues related to product quality and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical support to both external and internal customer inquiries.
• Address customer phone calls, emails, and technical questions in a timely manner, consistently meeting or exceeding departmental goals.
• Understand customer requirements and provide accurate information regarding part manufacturability, process capabilities, and design issues.
• Conduct thorough product quality investigations, identify solutions, and execute action plans to resolve customer support requests.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of actions and communications related to the resolution of customer complaints and technical support requests.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, supporting a customer-centric approach in all communications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address pre-shipment quality or process issues, proactively communicating with customers and involving them in decisions that affect part quality and delivery.
• Balance customer satisfaction objectives with Mxy Machining’s manufacturing capabilities to deliver acceptable parts on schedule.
• Maintain strong organizational skills, including accurate progress tracking, record maintenance, and communication of action plans and status updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities as required.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department and company policies and operational procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, with a focus on customer quality support.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to various stakeholders.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of CAD and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across different levels of business professionals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, build rapport, and establish trust with customers.
• Basic understanding of quality control inspection techniques and documentation methods.
• Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, surface plates, pin and height gauges.
• Proactive, self-starter with the ability to demonstrate sound business judgment.
• Prior experience working directly with customers in a technical manufacturing role is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 3D CAD modeling software, such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
• Effective problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Receptive to constructive feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
