Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer at MXY Machining, you will be instrumental in planning, designing, setting up, modifying, optimizing, and monitoring specialized manufacturing processes, with a primary focus on CNC operations. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our production lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: Design and procure jigs, tooling, and equipment for new product introductions. Lead projects to integrate new products/processes into manufacturing, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions.
  
• Equipment Evaluation: Evaluate and source new equipment, ensuring quality at the best price. Collaborate with R&D to stay at the forefront of industry innovations, implementing cutting-edge technologies to enhance production capabilities.
  
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve manufacturing methods, focusing on yield and quality. Act as the technical expert for troubleshooting and guidance, addressing operational issues creatively and promptly.
  
• Training & Development: Enhance work processes and support training efforts with updated instructions. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain quality and safety standards, addressing issues promptly. Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CNC machining, plastic injection molding, or rapid prototyping. Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CamWorks, or MasterCam is advantageous.
  
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  
• Attention to Detail: Proven mechanical aptitude and experience with measurement instruments. Experience with metalworking machinery (mills, lathes, drills, grinders) is preferred.
  
• Project Management: Demonstrated experience in project management, with the ability to meet deadlines and overcome obstacles. Previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment is a plus.
  
• Continuous Improvement: Experience with Kaizen implementation or other continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
