Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Development Engineer to oversee and enhance the quality performance of our manufacturing partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our supply chain adheres to MXY Machining’s stringent quality standards, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Audits & Compliance: Conduct regular audits of manufacturing partners to assess compliance with MXY Machining’s quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Quality Training: Provide training to suppliers on quality tools and methodologies, ensuring they are equipped to meet our quality expectations.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and support continuous improvement projects with suppliers, driving initiatives that enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
- Documentation & Reporting: Review and approve quality documentation, including PPAPs, and support suppliers in fulfilling quality requirements for orders.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance metrics, addressing underperformance through targeted improvement plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain and sales, to streamline processes and improve order intake efficiency related to quality review and requirements.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required to visit supplier facilities and oversee quality initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and injection molding.
- Certifications: Lead auditor certification in ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks) is highly desired.
- Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
