Role Overview

As a CNC Material Associate, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and managing raw materials for CNC production. Your responsibilities will encompass material handling, machine setup, quality control, and inventory management, ensuring the seamless flow of materials through our machining centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Load and unload materials into CNC machines, accurately entering stock information into the system and executing process programs.
• Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining, providing feedback on machining issues to engineering and management teams.
• Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections, identify non-conformance issues, and report on CNC raw material conditions to maintain high-quality standards.
• Inventory Management: Select appropriate materials to maintain stock levels, perform stock transfers, movements, and labeling to ensure efficient inventory control.
• Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to company, quality, and safety standards. Perform daily checks on emergency stops and door functions of mills, and clean and maintain machining centers, including chip bin emptying and lubricant replenishment.
• Tool Management: Operate power tools like band saws and manual mills, manage cutting tools, and inspect machined items for accuracy.
• Logistics Support: Book deliveries of CNC raw materials, update the computer system, produce stock labels, and carry out additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines is advantageous but not required.
• Technical Skills: Proficient with measuring instruments (e.g., rulers, verniers, calipers, dial indicators) and basic IT applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and handle manual lifting in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow printed and digital instructions.
• Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with various teams within the company.
• Motivation: Independent, motivated, dependable, and resourceful with good organizational skills.
